Creating a brand image/s for a medical device community and event website
Joe Hage now runs and hosts three medical device industry shows per year. His brand, as leader of a huge online industry community, and that of his events, is one of having fun, promoting networking, and learning. I'm on the team that created and presented the brand and the messaging. My contribution was the look and feel of certain pages, and providing header art themed to create a tone. That tone then carried over into various banner ads used across sites. All file supplied with developer needs in mind.
I'd made the red 10x logo for Joe years ago. 10x now was an umbrella brand, adding more 10x events. But first issue we needed a system to represent each show. Because 10x has appeared on black in the past, the idea came to represent each show with a branded badge that would be a flexible element for future uses.
Joe was okay with using this "unofficial" design from the MDTX show, a venture which he had been a partner in. (Short story – the art we had already developed (seen here) was never officially adopted by the venture so it remained his property.)
A color palette accompanied each iteration of the 10x-branded event, so each had its own banner ad. On the events calendar page, these would show up ahead of their respective months.
Other touches to the site were commissioned and proposed: a design for a discreet search function on the industry events listings page; and a site-wide nav bar. The live site used almost all of my recommendations. Fortunately they have my vector source files for each individual project, so a less expensive designer can make any modifications desired.
